Shopping for flooring in a brick & mortar store or showroom presents its own set of challenges, but so does browsing laminate flooring online. Thanks to a well-designed site, you won’t have any trouble looking through Balterio’s laminate flooring collections. At present, there are 68 styles in their catalog and a variety of ways you can sort through their flooring online.

Traditions Collection

One of the wider selections of laminate from Balterio can be found in the Traditions Collection. There are 16 shades of flooring to choose from including lighter tones like Diamond Oak. That’s the most prevalent species represented in this collection, although there is a style in Pine and Walnut as well. Traditions laminate flooring is water-resistant through Hydroshield and has a natural V-groove on all sides.

Grande Collection

If you’re interested in the company’s water-resistant flooring but aren’t partial to those shades, the Grande Collection may be right up your alley. Grand Narrow features boards that are long and narrow measuring 6.5”W x 80”L and comes in 8 different colors. Alternatively, the Grand Wide Collection also has 10 colors, but with a few new styles like Sienna and Bourbon Oak. These boards are 9.4” wide, but the same length as the smaller series. Both have Hydroshield protection and take advantage of the company’s Ultra HD printing technology

Dolce Vita Collection

DOLCE VITA MILK

DOLCE VITA MILK

While not water-resistant, Dolce Vita and Stretto bring a similar vibe to the table with four colors in each. The Dolce Vita Collection consists of Oak-like flooring aside from Milk, which lives up to its namesake.

Other Collections

The Xperience 4 Plus Collection also features Elm-like laminate flooring, but in different colors and wider planks. The Impressio Collection is unique through the use of Panoramic Design technology which fools the eye into thinking these Charcoal Floorboards look longer than they really are.

The company utilizes Chrome Zone technology to add life to laminate flooring from the Magnitude Collection, and a similar technique on the Quattro Vintage Collection. There are 6 different colors in this series, and these boards are manufactured using 3D Wood Effects. That adds another layer of depth by making knots and other natural features stand out.

The Quattro Eight Collection has a similar vibe, but with a different finish and grooves. They have a V-groove with a soft-touch matte finish, although the boards from both collections are 8mm thick and measure 7.4”W x 49”L.

You won’t find any grooves in with flooring from the Xpressions Collection. With a matte sand-grain finish on top of an Ultra HD print, styles like Domino will stand out in any room.

Balterio Laminate Cost and Availability

Balterio is a European brand, so if you reside in the UK or Europe, you’re likely to encounter their flooring in showrooms and specialty shops. If you live in the United States, things are a bit different as you’ll need to go through their parent company IVC US. The IVC Group acquired Balterio in 2013, but their products can still be hard to track down stateside without the help of a professional.

As for pricing, we were unable to find details on the cost of Balterio laminate flooring in the United States. In the UK, you can find styles like Xpressions Piano for the equivalent of around $25/m2 while the waterproof Grand Wide collection comes in at close to $43 per square meter. U.S. pricing should be comparable depending on the available styles.

The Green Factor

Eco-friendly flooring is more important than ever before as global temperatures rise along with carbon emissions. Governments from around the globe have implemented various standards to reduce pollution from production and ensure your new flooring doesn’t make you ill by allowing toxic VOCs into the air.

While the agencies in Europe differ from those in the United States, homeowners will be pleased to know that laminate flooring from Balterio has been vetted successfully. All of the flooring in their laminate collections is listed as PEFC certified for responsible forestry management and also carries the EU Ecolabel.

Warranties

Balterio takes a tiered approach to the warranties for their products, although there are only minor differences between most of their collections. The shortest warranty is for the Dolce Vita and Xpressions Collections which are guaranteed at 20 years for residential use and 10 years in a commercial setting. Every other collection is listed at 25 years for residential use and 12 years commercial, aside from 3 collections.

Both the Grand Narrow and Grand Wide Collections are warrantied for the same length of time but have an additional 5 years of “wet warranty” that only applies when used in areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Laminate flooring from the Naturals line gets the same treatment, although the wet warranty is set at 10 years.

Balterio Pros, Cons, and Ratings

Overall, we feel Balterio has a solid selection of flooring including a variety of water-resistant laminate. They don’t have quite as many colors or collections as some of the larger brands in the industry; their laminate flooring is well-made and has a rock-solid guarantee. You can check out Balterio’s laminate collection for yourself through their official site at the link below.
