Mannington Vinyl Plank Reviews and Prices 2023

Mannington Mills has been in the flooring business for over 100 years and are known for producing hardwood, laminate, and vinyl flooring. Their luxury vinyl planks are one of their newer materials in their catalog, but they are one of the largest manufacturers of luxury vinyl tiles in the world. This company’s products are in the premium class compared to brands like Home Decorators although not as easy to find if you enjoy shopping at big-box retailers.

Mannington Luxury Vinyl Collections

At this time, Manning has four kinds of luxury vinyl products available. All are from their ADURA luxury vinyl lineup, which means they are rated as waterproof, not water-resistant. Regardless of the collection, all ADURA luxury vinyl flooring comes with a lifetime warranty and is highly resistant to stains, scratches, UV rays and indentations.

ADURA MaxAPEX

Mannington Vinyl ADURA MaxAPEX

MaxAPEX is the company’s top option from a style standpoint and also one of their most resilient lines. These planks have a WPC or expanded polymer core that’s waterproof with some assistance from their HydroLoc tech. That makes the ADURA MaxAPEX line ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, although there are only a handful of options that qualify as tile from a size standpoint.

While there are only around 35 styles to choose from in the MaxAPEX collection, the selection is varied, and there are some nice patterned options available like Stained Glass Tracery. Wood-look vinyl is the most prevent option, however, and you can choose from greys and browns in a variety of styles. There aren’t any stone patterns, but you can find a few alternatives that resemble parquet.

Products from this collection are either 16” x 48” or 7” x 48” with a few 6” x 36” planks thrown in for good measure. The thickness was listed at 8mm on all the products we checked, and all had micro-beveled edges.

ADURA Max

The ADURA Max collection is another WPC-based flooring system with a waterproof core. All the same technologies from Mannington are found on these styles, so there are more similarities than differences between the first three collections when it comes to construction.

What makes the Max line different is the fact these floors are designed to dampen noise. The company claims you can see up to a 30% noise reduction when the planks are properly installed, which makes them a perfect option for second-story homes with loud children. You can install ADURA Max flooring over existing surfaces like tile as well.

This FloorScore certified flooring is available in two sizes and forms but appears to be 8mm thick across the board. Their luxury vinyl tiles are 12” x 24” and there are 20 styles to choose from while the planks are generally 6” x 48”. There are close to 50 styles if you prefer wood look vinyl to LVT that resembles marble or stone.

ADURA Rigid

Mannington Vinyl ADURA Rigid

Vinyl flooring is known for its ability to deal with different types of conditions, and high-quality luxury vinyl can withstand moisture or UV rays with ease. The Mannington ADURA Rigid collection takes things a step further as it’s one of their more resilient products and can handle frigid temperatures or extreme heat.

The secret to this flooring’s resiliency is the core. The company used a solid polymer core for this collection, which provides outstanding resistance against indentations or wild swings in temperature. These floors are difficult to scratch, hard to dent and easy to install on hard surfaces as long as they are prepped correctly beforehand.

Some of the more unique options from this series include Tiger’s Eye Acacia and Seaport Anchor if you prefer planks to tile. There are some interesting options in ADURA Rigid LVT as well, and both types are listed at 5.5mm thick. This collection may be highly resistant to denting, but it’s not as thick as the other lines.

ADURA Flex

Mannington Vinyl ADURA Flex

Whenever a company uses the word “flex” with flooring, you know it will have some interesting characteristics. The ADURA Flex collection is sold as a luxury vinyl tile or plank, but highly flexible compared to traditional strips. It’s also ideal for high-traffic areas prone to scratches thanks to the company’s ScratchResist X wear layer. Don’t believe us; just watch this video…

This flooring is designed where it can be installed in long runs sans transition strips as well and comes in two main styles with planks that resemble wood or stone-like tiles. There are over 70 options to choose from in this series with planks sized at 6” x 48” and tiles coming in at 18” x 18” or 12” x 24”. Both styles are 2.5mm thick with an 18mil wear layer.

The Green Factor

Every flooring material we cover on our site has a certain level of eco-friendliness, and that includes synthetics like vinyl. Unfortunately, it’s not one of the greener building materials, so sustainable hardwood or even linoleum are better choices in that regard. Like other manufacturers, Mannington understands the importance of indoor air quality. If you’re concerned about VOCs, we’re pleased to say their floors are FloorScore certified and safe.

Installation

Mannington doesn’t have as many installation options as other luxury vinyl plank manufacturers, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. All of their collections can be installed over hard surfaces, included tile with old grout lines except for flooring from the ADURA Flex collection. Those tiles need to be glued down while other products can be grouted or installed as a floating floor.

Overall, their flooring is easy to install, and we didn’t see any customer complaints in this area. Given the price of some of their flooring, a professional flooring installer should still be an option if you’re not handy with tools or have problems with your existing flooring.

Mannington Vinyl Plank Pros, Cons and Ratings

Mannington is a little pricey in comparison to more budget-friendly brands, and that price largely depends on thickness – not features or style. With that in mind, they make a high-quality product, and we only found a few complaints worth noting in our review. They have a large collection overall and should be on your shopping list if they are within your price range.

Pros:

Solid selection of both luxury vinyl tile and luxury vinyl planks. Fairly realistic wood look options for vinyl and the waterproof cores are a bonus. Mannington has an excellent lifetime residential warranty on all their collections and styles.

Cons:

Nothing significant aside from the price point. Some forms of hardwood and engineered flooring are cheaper than their luxury vinyl planks.

Ratings:

  • Range of color/style options: 5
  • Sizes: 4
  • Durability: 4
  • Eco-Friendly: 3
  • Overall Rating: 4.25 out of 5
