There are companies that manufacture rugs and ones that import them, along with dozens of companies that do both. Well Woven Rugs is a manufacturer of area rugs, but one of only a handful that sells direct to the public.

The popular brand has been a staple on channels like HGTV, working with a number of designers as well like Cotton Stem and Chill Rugs. In our Well Woven review, we’ll let you know what you can expect from the company in comparison to the competition.

Well Woven Rug Collections

While well organized, the number of options on Well Woven’s official website is staggering. As you’d expect, you can sort through their entire catalog using a set of standard filters for size and style. You can also search by look or area if you need a rug for a particular type of room. For the purpose of this review, we’ve broken things down by style starting with their largest selection.

Modern Rugs from Well Woven

Well Woven’s Modern area rugs are available in sizes ranging from 2’ x 3’ up to 9’ x 12’ rugs. Some of the first patterns to grab our attention in this area were abstract rugs like Belle. This dark blue beauty has 3D texturing while Pleasure uses a variety of colors for an eye-catching design. Arc & Shapes, Galaxy Waves, and a few other rugs have similar styles whereas Nirvana uses earth tones in a retro design.

3D patterns are popular in geometric styles as well. Nora, Millie Blush, and Rosa Gold are a few great examples, but far from the only ones. Want the best of both worlds? Then consider rugs like Largo, which is both abstract and geometric. It’s made from synthetics but is smooth underfoot thanks to an upper made from chenille.

Consumers that are interested in a modern take on the classic medallion pattern will be thrilled with Maxwell Vintage or Georgina. Ciato has a Persian appeal, while Alu Cream, Socorro, and Xander have tribal designs. Many of these rugs are made from 100% polypropylene, but some are power-loomed while others are machine-made and handcrafted.

Traditional Area Rugs from Well Woven

At this time, there are around 200 rugs listed in the traditional category on the Well Woven official website. While some companies use that term loosely and include others styles in this niche, Well Woven traditional area rugs are largely adorned with medallions.

Medallion area rugs with hints of red include Sophia, Dazzling Rose, Alish, and Prospect Global. Those are all vintage style rugs, however. Chahna Crimson is brighter, but still somewhat worn while Brio Bokhara kicks things up a notch. That rug features a tribal pattern along with Aldo Bokhara and Donte Bokhara. Joy is also tribal but uses a mixture of a dozen colors instead of only a few.

Whether tribal rugs qualify as traditional is up for debate, but there are several unique designs. Mid-Century tribal designs include Aragon and Manzano while Enola uses geometric shapes in its tribal-inspired design. We also found close to a dozen floral designs in this category. Botanical Dream, Tapestry, and Ashley Oriental are just a few of the more noteworthy options.

Other Styles from Well Woven Rugs

While you’ll find hundreds of rugs that are unique in the traditional and modern class, Well Woven also carries a selection of rugs labeled as one-of-a-kind. All of these rugs are only available in one size and style, and once they leave the site, they are gone forever.

Many antique rugs are Persian or Oriental, but there are a few exceptions from Well Woven like Azul. This 80-year-old area rug is overdyed and distressed, so the medallion isn’t as prevalent. It’s made from 100% wool like Arden, which has a similar style but in a lighter blue and grey. These stunning rugs are ideal for certain types of décor, but rugs from the company’s shag collection can go in any room.

Looking for something bright and colorful? You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything more vivid and cushy than Zuma or Nahla. Both are 3D textured rugs with soft shag, while Malibu, Gia, and Meraki take a more subtle approach with pastels.

Well Woven Rugs Cost and Availability

If you’re interested in purchasing a rug locally, that’s not something you’ll get from Well Woven’s business model. They are an online brand, so there is no physical storefront which isn’t uncommon in this particular niche. That said, their rugs are only sold through the company’s official website, so it’s unlikely you’ll find them elsewhere.

When it comes to pricing, we’re pleased to say that Well Woven rugs are reasonably priced with the consumer in mind. They are able to do this by cutting out the middleman, but it’s also due in part to the types of rugs they produce. They largely rely on synthetic fibers with rugs that are machine-made, which is cheaper than imported rugs from across the globe.

Another thing to be wary of are sales. The company has them constantly, so you’ll find rugs with high price tags that are marked down at 50% or more. The company provides free shipping on all of their area rugs which range from $50 to $400 regardless of the “ongoing” sales tactics. Vintage rugs and a few made from wool are the exceptions.

Well Woven Rugs Pros, Cons, and Reviews

Companies with online-only business models can be hit or miss with area rugs, as we’ve seen several brands flounder in this niche. Well Woven doesn’t fall into that category, however, as this popular brand has plenty of fans and hundreds of styles. We felt the selection between modern and transitional rugs was excellent, and it’s hard to argue against a large area rug for less than $300.

On the downside, their selection of rugs that use natural fibers is basically non-existent. 90% of their catalog is composed of synthetic fibers, aside from vintage rugs and a few oddballs we found in their catalog. Aside from that, they are a company with an impressive range of rugs, and prices that put competitors in their class to shame.
