Wolf Decking Review and Cost 2024

Composite and PVC decks are fairly new compared to traditional decking, and some companies have adapted admirably to those new materials. Wolf Home Products is one of them considering they’ve been dealing with lumber since the early 1900s. While the company makes a variety of home goods from cabinets and siding to outdoor lighting, their flooring lineup is what we’re going to focus on this time around.

Wolf Serenity Decking Review

Wolf Serenity decking is the company’s flagship product and one made from PVC instead of a composite blend. That means it can resist mold and mildew better than other building materials and it will never rot, split or delaminate.

Fading won’t be an issue thanks to a ColorWatch100 ASA capstock which keeps your new deck safe from UV rays. The high-quality core adds strength and stability and these standard length boards can be installed with hidden fasteners or screwed down the old-fashioned way. Installation is easy for homeowners looking to go the DIY route although we highly recommend a professional if you’ve never dealt with PVC decking.

Wolf Serenity Decking Collection

Wolf Serenity Decking Collection

The Serenity decking line consists of two collections with Tropical Hardwoods and Seaside. There are eight tropical options with Amberwood, Black Walnut, Golden Cypress, Driftwood Grey, Rosewood, Silver Teak, Weathered IPE, and Teakwood. With Seaside, there are two hues available with Harbor Grey and Sand Castle.

All the boards from these collections are double sided and ESR-2824 ICC Code compliant. That said, if you want your front porch to match the deck out back, you’ll want to consider their spin-off product called Wolf Serenity Porch.

Wolf Serenity Porch Review

There are more similarities than differences between Serenity decking and the porch planks. They are both made from the same material and are dual-sided. You’ll get ASA ColorWatch100 protection as well, but these boards install in a completely different fashion.

The Wolf Serenity Porch series has a tongue and groove profile which makes it extremely easy to install. It comes in the same lengths, but the boards are narrower, and the Pewter planks from the Americana Collection are only available in  ¾” x 3 1/8”. The Seaside Collection consists of the same hues while Tropical Hardwoods include Weathered IPE, Silver Teak, Golden Cyprus, and Amberwood.

Wolf Serenity Porch and Serenity Decking come with a 25-year warranty against staining and fading along with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The latter includes normal wear and tear in residential homes for a period of 50 years.

Wolf Perspective Decking Review

Not everyone prefers PVC and composite are still very popular, especially if you are on a tight budget. The Wolf Perspective decking lineup is ideal for homeowners that want their decking to feel more like wood, and it’s eco-friendly considering it’s made from 94% recycled material.

These sturdy composite boards use Fiber Sequencing Technology which ensures a durable core. They also bring some new colors to the table with Dune, Redwood, Potomac Grey, Cedar Ridge, and Acacia. While these planks are just as easy to install as other composite deck boards, these are not dual-sided and lack the outer shell found on the PVC styles.

Wolf’s Perspective Decking is an affordable alternative to PVC that won’t break the bank but will freshen up any home. The product itself has a 25-year limited warranty and sports the same guarantee against fading and stains as their other lines.

Where to Purchase Wolf Composite Decking

Wolf Serenity and Perspective decking are available throughout the United States, but you may need to contact the company to find a dealer if you can’t source it locally. We did manage to find a handful of contractors and specialty shops that have their decking, but they are mainly located in the Northeastern United States.

Wolf Composite Decking Pros, Cons and Ratings

We’re big fans of any products made in America always appreciate any product with an excellent warranty. Wolf also has a larger color range than other PVC decking manufacturers, and it’s easy to put your trust into a company that’s been in business for over 150 years.

Pros: The Limited Lifetime Warranty of 50-years on their premium lines is something we would like to see more of, and you can get even an extended warranty through Wolf Pro. We also appreciate the wealth of technical data and other helpful data the company has available on their site and the company’s ColorWatch100 tech is definitely a bonus as well.

Cons: As much as we like the product, it may not be easy to find unless you live around Maryland or can find a contractor that will special order the material for you.

  1. Thank you for the review of Wolf decking. When you were looking for suppliers, did you find any in British Columbia, Canada? I live near Vancouver. If not British Columbia, anyone in Washington State?
